Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Peer Review Process:

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process. Authors should ensure that manuscripts are anonymized (no identifying information in the main file).

Publication Ethics:

The journal adheres to strict ethical standards:

  • Submissions must be original and unpublished
  • Manuscripts should not be under review elsewhere
  • Plagiarism, data fabrication, and unethical practices are strictly prohibited

Copyright and Licensing:

Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication. Articles are published under a Creative Commons license (e.g., CC BY).

Open Access Policy:

This journal provides immediate open access to its content, ensuring free availability to readers worldwide.

Review Timeline (Indicative):

  • Initial screening: 1–2 weeks
  • Peer review: 4–6 weeks
  • Final decision: 6–8 weeks

Article Processing Charges (APC)

The International Journal of Business Strategy and Innovation (IJBSI) is self-financed and does not receive funding from any institution/government. Hence, the Journal operates solely through processing charges we receive from the authors and some academic/corporate sponsors. The handling fee is required to meet its maintenance. Being an Open Access Journal, IJBSI does not collect subscription charges from readers that enjoy free online access to the articles. Authors are hence required to pay a fair handling fee for processing their articles. However, there are no submission charges. Authors are required to make payment only after their manuscript has been accepted for publication.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • All manuscripts must be written in clear, concise English.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Formatting:

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx)
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12-point
  • Line spacing: 1.5 or double-spaced
  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides
  • Page numbers included

Length:

  • Research Articles: 5,000–8,000 words
  • Review Papers: 6,000–10,000 words
  • Case Studies: 3,000–5,000 words

Structure of the Manuscript:

Manuscripts should be organized as follows:

  • Title Page
    • Title of the paper
    • Author(s) name(s), affiliation(s), and contact details
    • Corresponding author clearly indicated
  • Abstract
    • 150–250 words
    • Clearly state purpose, methodology, findings, and implications
  • Keywords
    • 4–6 keywords
  • Main Text
    Suggested structure:
    • Introduction
    • Literature Review
    • Methodology
    • Results/Findings
    • Discussion
    • Conclusion
  • Acknowledgements (if applicable)
  • Funding Information (if applicable)
  • Conflict of Interest Statement
  • References

Referencing Style:

Authors should follow a standard referencing style such as APA (7th edition). All references must be cited in the text and listed at the end of the manuscript.

Tables and Figures:

  • Must be clearly labeled and numbered
  • Include titles and sources (if applicable)
  • Submitted within the manuscript at appropriate locations

Manuscript Submission Guidelines

To ensure a proper double-blind peer review process, authors are requested to submit TWO versions of their manuscript:

  1. Blind Manuscript
    • Must NOT contain author names, affiliations, acknowledgements, or any identifying information.
  2. Title Page / Full Manuscript
    • Should contain author names, affiliations, email addresses, and corresponding author details.

Reviewers will only have access to the blind manuscript version during the review process.
